From May 31 to June 1, 1921, Greenwood, a district of Tulsa, Oklahoma (also known as "Black Wall Street") was overtaken by riots that broke out as residents rebelled against racist terrorism. Lives were forever changed, in ways regrettably untold.
When a small town comes under attack by violent bigots, the people must come together if they have a chance of surviving. "Born Free" is the story of transformation and liberation in the face of desperate uncertainty, told through one young person's journey of survival as the possibility of freedom becomes reality in unexpected ways.
